Young Adults at CCFUMC

YA at Corpus Christi First United Methodist Church represents those who are between the ages 18-35. We desire to go far beyond a habitual faith, by learning who God truly is (by what His Word speaks of Him rather than what our culture proclaims), falling more in love with who He is, and by living our lives by a power beyond our own—given by the Spirit that dwells within us. All are welcome!

Sunday Mornings
YA “Sunday School”: @9:45a in Rm 201

We come together on Sunday mornings to examine the Scriptures closely. In this, we seek to learn the truth of who God is, what He has done, and what we are to do in response. This is primarily a time of teaching, and as we study the texts on Sundays, we unpack the reality of what is being said as we meditate further on them throughout our weeks. Our hope is that this truth would penetrate every aspect of our daily lives, transforming us more and more into Spirit-led beings. By this, we hope that we may live up to our holy calling:

12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. 14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[a] And by him we cry,“Abba,[b] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. –Romans 8:12-17
And…

6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 8 So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. 9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. -2 Timothy 1:6-9

Small Groups

College Students

Our college small group meets every Tuesday night at 7:30pm in one of our leaders' homes. We come together to share in community with one another as we discuss what the Lord is showing us in and through our lives. This is a time for each of us to be encouraged and sharpened by one another as we pursue righteousness, faith, peace, and love alongside each other (2 Tim. 2:22) and to pray for one another as we pursue Christ together. To become a part of this group,

Young Adults

Our small group meets at the church building on Wednesday nights at 6:00p in “THE UPPER ROOM”. It is a time where we share what the Lord has been teaching us and the ideas and circumstances He has been teaching us through. This is an intentional time of openness and honesty—a place to “come as you are” and be sharpened by and lean on the community of CCFUMC.

Young Adult members of the CCFUMC Church Body are college students and individuals up to their mid-30’s (no offense, 36 year-olds!).
